2024 Student Member Liaison - Waad Tarman
Personal Profile:
A second-year Ph.D. student and dedicated research assistant at Auburn University's Electronics Manufacturing and Reliability Laboratory within the Industrial and Systems Engineering department at Auburn University. Currently serving as the Vice President of the IPC Student Chapter at Auburn and the President of the SMTA Chapter. She received various IPC scholarships including two member scholarships in 2022/3 and a leadership scholarship in 2023. Originally from Jordan, she graduated with and Industrial and Systems Engineering degree prior to relocating to the U.S. as an international student. She recently graduated with her master’s in industrial and systems Engineering. She was selected among 750 applicants to lead the exchange leadership and civic engagement program under the Department of State’s MEPI Student Leaders Program through Georgetown University in 2019. Her journey has been defined by a determined pursuit of leadership and a passion for making a positive impact. Possessing strong knowledge of various microelectronics manufacturing, including PCB fabrication and assembly (PCBA), package mounting and assembling (SMT & THMT) technologies, inspection and quality control, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). She holds a Lean Manufacturing (186 Hours) certificate and completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Between 2011-2018 she formed part of the Jordan National Taekwondo Team as a professional athlete and competed in Korea, Taiwan, Lebanon, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, UAE, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan.

Position Summary: Term: January 2025 – January 2026
The IPC Student Chapter Program will select one (1) individual to represent the IPC Student Member body to the IPC Board of Directors. The Liaison will speak on behalf of all IPC Student Chapters and IPC Student Members to assist the IPC Board of Directors in making decisions pertaining to the Program and/or its members. The individual should be knowledgeable of the current student chapters, individual and chapter requirements, and the day-to-day management of their student chapter. The Liaison will act in the best interest of the IPC Student Chapters and its IPC Student Members.
Application Process for 2025:
- November 17: Deadline for Individual Applications which includes letter of recommendation from Chapter Advisor
- November 20-22: Reviewing applications and creating ballot (depending on the number and quality of applications received)
- November 24: IPC Student Members and Advisors Vote
- December 4: IPC Board of Directors Select Liaison & IPC Notifies Individual
- December 6: Announcement of the new IPC Student Board Member
Qualifications:
- Current IPC Student Member enrolled through December 2025
- Serve currently or intend to serve in a leadership role at an IPC Student Chapter
- Cumulative and semesterly/quarterly GPA over 3.0
- Exhibit leadership, initiative, professionalism, dependability, and enthusiasm
- A valid passport to travel internationally without restrictions and ability to apply for the necessary visa(s), if necessary and/or applicable

Henry served as IPC Board of Directors Student Member Liaison in 2023. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Utah studying electrical engineering.
Hannah Nelson
2022
Hannah was IPC Board of Directors Student Member Liaison in 2022. She graduated from Valparaiso University where she served as the IPC student chapter president. Hannah is now working as an Application Engineer at Texas Instruments.

Paige served as IPC Board of Directors Student Member Liaison from 2020 - 2021. She graduated from Michigan Technological University and currently works as a Quality Engineer at TTM Technologies in Logan, Utah.
